What is a house officer?

House officers in our hospital gain hands-on experience under the guidance of our boarded specialists. They are interns and residents who have already completed their DVM and manage cases, teach fourth-year students, and engage in clinical and research activities to advance their expertise in medicine and surgery.

What is the difference between a resident and an intern?

Intern

Internship programs are one-year opportunities that allow interns to work alongside specialists in areas such as medicine and surgery.

Resident

Residency  programs typically last two to three years and provide licensed veterinarians with advanced training to become board-certified specialists in a specific area of veterinary medicine, surgery, theriogenology, amongst other specialties.
